| The Project Return Annual Golf Tournament is Going Green-less for 2009!
Normally,we would be excitedly announcing the date and location of Project Return’s annual golf tournament which our supporters have contributed to for the past seventeen years. However, this year, with the economic crisis, we recognize that the current situation is challenging for the many supporters who have been loyal contributors to our golf tournament each year.
The economic climate has a huge impact on our entire community. Project Return must have donations from individuals and corporations in order to maintain the majority of our funding from the state and federal government. Without these private contributions, Project Return’s state and federal funding would be jeopardized, putting the future of our programs and services at great risk.
So we are proposing a win-win solution to help us all weather the storm of the economic downturn. Project Return is proposing a “green-less” golf tournament for 2009. We would not hold a physical tournament on a golf course this year, saving us these expenses. In turn, we would pass on savings to our sponsors. As in the past, we would also continue to promote our sponsors in our newsletter and annual report as well as on a dedicated golf webpage. We will also explore other cost-effective ways to promote your business through email promotions, etc. In order for this approach to be successful, Project Return must raise a minimum of $20,000.
